Lance Armstrong Did Admit to Oprah That He Used Performance-Enhancing Drugs
OPRAH WINFREY was on "CBS This Morning" yesterday to discuss her interview with LANCE ARMSTRONG (Which is now airing in TWO parts, by the way: Tomorrow and Friday night, on OWN.) Oprah said that Lance did admit to using performance-enhancing drugs, but she added, quote, "He did not come clean in the manner I expected." However, she did say she was "satisfied" with his answers.
Oprah said she had 112 questions prepared, and she got through most of them. And things got so intense that at one point, he asked her to LIGHTEN UP.
At the same time, though, Oprah said Lance definitely came prepared. (Here's video.) She said, "We were mesmerized and riveted by some of his answers. People around the world have been waiting to hear [them]."
Will Lance Armstrong Rat on His Fellow Dopers?
LANCE ARMSTRONG may be trying to make nice with the federal government. CBS News is reporting that Lance offered to be a "cooperating witness" in a federal doping investigation. In other words, he's willing to RAT on others who were involved. He also offered $5 million to compensate for alleged fraud. The Justice Department reportedly turned him down on both counts.
Meanwhile, the World Anti-Doping Agency says there's basically only one thing that'll convince them to even consider lifting the ban, "a full confession under oath."
