Robin Thicke plans to release his first full-length album in six years On Earthand in Heaven on Feb. 12. This will be Thicke’s debut project under his new partnership between Lucky Music and Empire.

The minute-long album trailer shows the highs and lows the 43-year-old hitmaker has experienced over the last decade, from gaining a Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit with “Blurred Lines” in 2013 and judging gig on Fox’s The Masked Singer in 2019 to losing his father, Alan Thicke, in 2016 and music industry mentor Andre Harrell in 2020.

“I feel like I’m finally the person I set out to be. I’m able to laugh at anything, which I’ve realized is the greatest superpower. I’ve fully embraced it, and nothing has been better for my soul,” Thicke said in a press statement on Monday (Jan. 4). “When I saw the phrase On Earth, and in Heaven, I realized that’s what I’m singing about: the people who aren’t here and the people who are here that made me who I am. This music is the sunshine coming out after the rain.”

He released the sizzling funk single “Fire It Up” as part of the NFL’s 2020 Songs of the Season series, which incorporates tunes from every genre into game broadcasts throughout the season.

Thicke last released a studio album in 2014 titled Paula, which was a tribute to his then-estranged wife Paula Patton. The LP debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200.
